Maleshevska


Maleshevska Mountain is part of Osogovo-Belasitsa mountain group. Bordered by the valley of the Struma River in the east, the region Maleshevo in the west, valleys of Sushitska and Lyubishka River to the north and Lebnitsa River to the south, which serves as relative border with mountain Ograzhden. The climate of the mountain is transitional Mediterranean. The mountain has interesting shape of a horseshoe. From it originate the rivers Bregalnitsa, Sushitska and Tsaparevska. Known villages In Maleshevska mountain are Lebnitsa, Struma, Krustiltsi. White pine, beech and oak predominate the flora. One can also find transitional Mediterranean vegetation like oak, hornbeam, sycamore, sweet chestnut. Invertebrate fauna predominates, numbering 360 species. Most frequently met in the Struma river valley. Mammals - hedgehog, mole, hare, marten, polecat, wild cat, badger, fox, weasel, wild boar, etc.. On the cliffs above the river Lebnitsa you can find black storks, imperial eagles, ravens, etc.
