Goleshovo Village is located at the foot of mountain Slavyanka near reserve "Alibotush". It is situated 46 km from the town of Sandanski, 14 km from Petrovo. Over the river in the village one can see four stone bridges from the late XVIII century. Near the village several ancient settlements have been discovered. In the area Ezerishta an ancient necropolis with tombs of stone was discovered. In the areas Solishteto and Perinarski Laki a settlement form the late Iron Age was found. More ancient settlements are found in the areas Tuchidol, Baza and Chereshar. In the area Pazlak a necropolis was discovered, and in Gradishteto – a fortress. Goleshovo is associated with famous Bulgarian writer and poet Peyo Yavorov. Goleshovo wins a BNT SAT competition for the most beautiful and little known place in Bulgaria. This contest gave the village a chance to develop its tourism activities.
