Bishop Joan’s Basilica - Sandanski

Located in the Basilica mosaics with images of birds, fish, and their shapes indicate that the building was of great importance for time and other facts lead them to the conclusion that the basilica was built by Bishop Joan. Remains from two construction periods are found, which proves that this city existed since Roman times. The site is of national importance.
